CQU Campus

Central Queensland University (CQU) is a young and vibrant Australian university. Cultural diversity is one of the hallmarks of the university.

Courses are modelled on the lines of excellence, flexibility and service. CQU has twice won the National Exporter of the Year (Education), the last one being in 2005.

Being one of the the most vibrant universities in Australia, CQU brings together over 24000 students from all walks of life to fulfil the university motto - Doctrina Perpetua or Learning for Life.

CQU campuses
The campuses of CQU are spread throughout the east coast of Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. Each centre provides high quality services in a dynamic and state-of-the-art environment. Rockhampton is the site of the university's administrative operations and all the academic heads are based on this campus.

Campus Life CQU

Campus life at CQU is inclusive and fun. There is heaps to do at any of the CQU campuses and this includes social/cultural activities and sporting opportunities.
CQU campuses also offer an ideal opportunity for sightseeing and travel throughout Australia. Beaches, kangaroos, the Great Barrier Reef, national parks and the fascinating Australian outback are some of the opportunities available to international students.

Living in Australia
Australia is a vibrant and multicultural society and is welcoming of visitors, tourists and international students.

Housing
Shared accommodation is the preferred option for most international students. Reasonably priced rental accommodation is also available within walking distance of the university.

The university also assists international students in finding rental accommodation through the CQU Student's Association.
There are other living costs besides weekly rental such as electricity, gas and telephone services. Inspection of rental accommodation can only be arranged after arrival.

Tenancy agreements are usually for a fixed term, usually for 6 or 12 months. This is a legal document and you should read the document carefully before signing it.

At the start, you must :

  • inspect the premises
  • sign a tenancy agreement
  • Complete and submit a Entry Condition Report for any damage caused prior to moving in
  • sign a Bond Lodgment form
  • Keep receipts for every payment made
  • Adhere to the requirements of the contract when moving out and give your landlord or real estate agent at least 14 days notice well in advance
