Applicants for Central Queensland University programs must satisfy the minimum English language and academic requirements. Entry requirements vary according to the program and may include academic performance, work experience or a combination of both.

In addition, the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs sets its own requirements for students visas. These requirements must also be adhered to.

CQU has alternative pathway entry points for applicants who do not satisfy the minimum entry requirements for admission.

Undergraduate programs
Applicants will be deemed to have satisfied the minimum entry requirements for undergraduate programs by completing Year 12 in Australia or its recognised overseas equivalent. Successful completion of certificate, diploma or advanced diploma courses may help you to gain advanced standing in a CQU undergraduate degree program. CQU also has credit transfer agreements with more than 80 Australian and overseas institutions. For advanced standing on merit, such cases are assessed on a case by case basis.

Postgraduate programs
Students who do not meet the entry requirements for a Masters degree program may alternatively undertake a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in lieu and gain advanced standing in the course. International students should note that they must satisfy the minimum English language and academic entry requirements in order to be considered for admission to any degree program at the university.
