UOW Student Researcher receives distinction

25-year old UOW PhD student, David Croucher was awarded the Inaugaral Premier's Award for Excellence in Cancer Research worth $10,000 on the 25th of May.
Croucher's groundbreaking study into how biotechnology can effectively combat cancer cells has proved useful in the fight against breast and prostate cancer. Croucher welcomed the award saying that it will assist him in his research and will fund his overseas work-related travel.

"The award is a wonderful recognition of my work and a great boost for my research. The prize money will allow me to continue to travel overseas to collaborate with researchers and work in other laborataries", said Croucher.
